1. Learn that we see things when light enters to our eyes. 2. Learn that we can see light in two ways: - Light coming directly from light sources. - Light reflected off an object. 3. Understand
that When light from a light source hits an object, it is reflected (bounces
off) and enters our eyes. This is how we see the object. 4. Learn that with NO light we cant
see anything.

Children will be able to: 1. know how we see.

1. Children watch a PowerPoint to learn how we see. 2. Children watch a diagram in worksheet 25 and think about how we see. Encourage children to annotate the drawings to explain ther thinking. Record responses and discuss. Does the light bulb need to be in the picture?-yes. Name an object which could e seen without a separate light source. - any which produce its own light- torch, candle... How do we see the cat? light from the torch bounces off the cat into our eyes. This information is carried to the brain via the optic nerve where it is translated. Some misconceptions - childen think "light" comes out of our eyes to see an object.
