Methodology

 

The following materials are intended to provide support for teachers and pupils. It consists on35 sessions of work which address some of the recommended contexts and content at "Cicle Superior" Planning Stages. The forward planners clearly identify the learning outcomes and facilitate the development of skills and the integration of assessment.

These science units have been designed to deliver key features within an active methology. They facilitate the progression of skills, with due emphasis on investigate learning.

The study of science can be seen as an opportunity to encourage pupils to take a responsible attitude to matters of safety and should not be seen as a reason for reducing the opportunities for practical work.

These units seek to maintain a balance between the development of Knowledge and Understanding and the Scientific skills. They will also lead children to recognise and value the various ways in which science is used to explain the environment and to meet society's needs and promote curiosity and enjoyment of science.
