Children will be able to:

1. Ask pupils to recall what we require to live on Earth. Establish through discussion that humans, plants and animls need air and water yo live. Tell pupils that we are looking for the importance of water.

2. Water is also important to humans. Ask pupils to brainstorm as many ideas as they can where they use or could use water. Discuss the way have used water today. Record on blackboard.Show pupils a measuring jug with 1 litre of water in it.Then ask them to estimate how much water each of us uses, on average, each day. Elicit through discussion the importance of water in our daily lives and the need to avoid wasting this resource. List ideas of ways in which they could avoid wasting water. Pupils complete Worksheet 37 entitled "Watery Jobs".
