Age: 7 Years old Aims:
· To discover
the geometrical solids, the shapes they have through the senses of touch
and sight, their shadow and discover their elements.
· To recognize the geometrical solids through the different senses:
sense of touch, their shape-print and also their shadow.
· To name the geometrical solids and identify them in the environment.
Materials:
· Plasticine,
clay, POLYDRON, a torch and a white cloth and geometrical solids.
Vocabulary:
· Cube,
prism, pyramid, sphere, cone, cylinder
· Edge, vertex, face
Procedure:
· Observation
of different shaped objects that children bring from their homes.
· Classification of solids depending on their shape, whether
they roll or not,...
· Construction of solids with plasticine.
· Construction of solids with POLYDRON.
· Reproduction
of different geometrical shapes on a paper.
· Print the faces of a solid on clay or plasticine.
· Print the painted faces of six types doing “Chinese Shadows”
on the paper.
· Artistic composition using solids.
· To take the solids made of cardboard to pieces cutting through
the edges.
· Discovery of solids through the senses of touch: touching with
the hand the solids that are in a bag and extracting those the teacher
mentions.
It is important that
the children discuss, explain and name the solids. It would be of great
use to hang the names of the solid figures in big letters on the wall.
