Deixem l'Índia en direcció a Hong-Kong.
Singapur és lloc de pas, lloc d'escala, punt de canvi d'avió o de vaixell. Unes hores
d'aturada ens desperten la curiositat per conèixer un dels estats més petits del món.
Aquest estat compta, però, amb el port franc més important del sud-est asiàtic.
Malgrat ser tan petit tot és molt gran, i per no perdre el costum continua havent-hi
gran barreja de races, religions i costums.
Xinesos, gent de Malaisia, hindús, paquistanesos, europeus i euroasiàtics viuen en aquest
estat. Cada grup ètnic té el seu barri: Chinatown, Petita Índia, etc. I com és de suposar
cada un d'aquests grups celebra els seus festivals religiosos plens de música, festivals
i color.
Visitarem el Jardí Botànic, pujarem al Faber i donarem un vol pel riu Singapur.
Quan marxem ens adonarem que realment és un gran país petit.
Hong-Kong

L'arribada al port de Hong-Kong ja és espectacular: joncs, petits vaixells,
transatlàntics o vaixells de guerra es barregen en les aigües de la badia.
Impressionant resulta veure el barri de pescadors i les cases flotants d'Aberdeen.
Aquesta antiga colònia anglesa (al 1997 passà a la soberania xinesa) té un dels nivells
de vida més elevat de l'Extrem Orient.
Com és inevitable en tots els països que estem visitant tornem a trobar els contrastos,
en aquest cas és la modernitat oposada a les tradicions xineses més arrelades.
Fent el turista pujarem en el funicular de "Peak Tram" fins a "The Peak" des d'on es pot
veure una magnífica vista de la ciutat. Tot caminant ens arribarem al Pic Victòria, des
d'allà podrem veure la badia de la ciutat i la península de Kowloon.
Singapur
We leave India and we go to Hong Kong. In our way we find Singapur.
Singapur is a intermediate stop, the place where we change the plane or the ship.
Some hours wake the curiosity to visit one the smallest country in the world. It has got
the most important South-east free port.
Like the other countries in Asia we can see a blend of races, religions and traditions.
Chinese, Malayans, Pakistanis, Europeans and Eurasians live in this small country. Each
ethnic group has its special quarter: Chinatown, Little India; and they celebrate its
religious festivals with music and colour.
We will visit the Botanical Garden, we will go up the "Faber Mount" or we will sail over
the Singapur river.
It's really a very big small country.
Hong-Kong
The Hong Kong welcome is espectacular: junks, small boats, warships and transatlantics
are in the bay.
It's really nice to see the fisher's quarter and the Aberdeen floating houses.
This old English colonial city (in 1997 comes back to China) has a very high standard of
living).
We can see another time the contrasts: modernity and the oldest Chinese traditions.
We will go up by funicular to "The Peak" and we will see a very impressive wiew of city.
Walking we can arrive to the Victoria Peak and we will see the Bay and the Kowloon
peninsula.
