KAHRAMANMARAS JOURNEY (TURKEY) 26-30 NOVEMBRE 2007 |

M. Llum Forner and Carme Branchadell travelled to Turkey last November to meet all their partners from the Comenius Project. We stayed in Kahramanmaras, a city near the region of Anatolia next to Siria. We shared there experiences with teachers from Turkey, Romania, Latvia, Sweden and Finland. The Turkish teachers group organized a week with loads of interesting activities to let us know their culture and traditions. Our visit there turned into a special event to a country that is going to enter the European Union. The mayor, the councillor and the representative received us with an amazing interest in our educational system and our opinion about theirs. The students were in the playground dancing and singing songs, they were running towards us asking our names. We also visited Antioquia and the Turkish baths. We ate loads of spicy meals, but luckily we had ayran “milk” to give our tongue a break! We had lunch in one of our partners’ house, we listened to turkish traditional music played by one of the city bands and we danced! During that week we planned a lot of activities to work on with the Orlandai students. This year the Comenius Project is focused on arts and crafts and music. Next year it's going to be related to literature. We hope to learn a lot! This year the Pingüins class, second year from the first stage of Primary Education, are writing letters to the Lulea students. There is an exhibition about the travel to Kahramanmaras in the school hall with pictures and objects from there and we want to tell our kids what we lived there. We encourage you to visit the exhibition with your kids! Thanks a lot to visit our website, you can also visit the websites of our partners schools. |
