It's a work where dominates an atmosphere of cold tonalities. We observe and guess there's a fabulaous landscape, the colous mix each other and give an expressions of vague nature.

The orange trees have an important presence and a clear but indeterminate expression. The oranges have an intense colour, dispersed liberately in the foliage. The orange tree is an important landscape element in Mallorca Island like the lemon tree and the terraces of cultivated borders and in the fertile valleys. It is not strange that they attract Mir's attention, who showed his constant admiration towards the nature.

But the Mir's picture goes far away from the reality of the Mallorca's landscape, he is able to pick up the impressions and the deep emotion of hte landscape, without unfaithful being to the reality. He awakes intense sensations: the challenging blues, the intimacy of the oranges... The mallorca's paintings are one of the most special and most beautiful works of Mir's career.

A beautiful view in a irreptible moment. This is a simple but great work. With the 'pastels' and an harmonious minimalism, Mir situated us between mountains seeing the see and a big rock growing up in the water.

This is also on of the most brilliant works of Mir. This is the Cala Sant Vicents when the sun dyes the rocks with an intense orange and red colour contrasting with the blue of the sea.

The sea keeps in calm, absorving the light of hte sky and reflecting the colours of the rocks that are cutted with the water.

In spite of recongnition of Mir's work as a nature painting, he liked paint everywhere a plain air and sometimes had chosen villages or cities landscapes.

We can see here a perspective that melts in the luminous stains of painting, made with grey, white and ocher. Mir gets to be carreid away for the magic of the colour, achieving to shape a solitary atmosphere, caught in the white walls, where the windows and doors remain only insinuated.
