Pere Noguera (born in La Bisbal, Girona in 1941) is a sculptor who started working within the new, reduced, ephemeral and conceptual poetics of the Seventies, making sculpture similar to "arte povera" and "anti-form" creating an sculpture of process, dematerialized, in which he incorporated object, space, nature (or landscape) as a framework for his installations where the material appears as revelation, and the home and domestic objects as man's immediate surroundings.

These elements are a representation of his Cosmo vision attached to its roots in his place of birth, La Bisbal (near La Costa Brava), a well-known area that produces industrial and domestic ceramics. From those roots and the different states of this material, in his work he has often incorporated - crude clay, in the form of powder or clay, or as fired ceramics-, having popularized the use of a layer of clay on the ground, the walls or objects, for installations.

Noguera spanded the use of clay, ceramic process and ceramic objects to conceptual works of art, installations and performances. He remember us the tradition, but bring us another way to imagine it and to thing with it. What interest us about Noguera ist his used of clay related to the industrial and domestic ceramics traditional in our country.

Through his work we can talk about the ceramics process, about the diferents tipical objects or forms created with this technic. Our School is situated 45 minuts ago from La Bisbal, where Pere Noguera was born, and where there are an importan ceramic center.
