Fabià Puigserver (Olot, 1938 - Barcelona 1991) a Catalan set designer and director who developed his work between 1961 and 1971. Became an important figur of the contemporary theater in Catalonia. He worked as a set designer but also as a director. From 1970 tought at the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona. He designed most of his sets for the Teatre Lliure (a knowned theater in Barcelona), he was one of the founders of this theater. He was an important artist for his renovated vision and concept of the space in theater, reforcing the place that the set design has in a theater play. He designed sets, dresses and also he made the posters. His wokrs and way of understanding the dramatic art helped to modernized the Catalan theater during the 70ies and the 80ies. His porposes moved away the traditional set designs. He tried to use all the visual elements that can create a space, trying to bring significants elements for the dramatic representation.
