Aquest curs 2006/07 hem iniciat
aquest projecte per millorar la competència lingüísitca
dels nostres alumnes en llengua anglesa, a través d'incorporar
l'eix transversal d'educació per la salut dins aquesta àrea.
HEALTH EDUCATION
A cross-curricular
topic to implement the use of the English Language in Cicle Mitja and
Cicle Superior
CEIP PRACTIQUES
II is already a health promoting school. The aim of our project is to
work on this cross-curricular topic in English.
We celebrate
the Health Day preparing and sharing a healthy breakfast and playing
games in the school playground
According to the
WHO concept of health, we will work on aspects like:
- Food and nutrition.
- Physical exercise and breathing.
Ergonomics.
- Feelings and emotions.
- Free time.
- Good relationship and values.
- How to lead a healthy life.
Healthy habits.
- How to make our planet healthier.
Why have we chosen
a project in English?
- Our pupils will:
- Have more contact with the
English language to increase their input.
- Get familiar to a real and
communicative dynamic in English.
- Internalize significant
learning in English.
- Have more chances to develop
their multiple intelligences.
- Get a more active interaction
in the teaching learning process.
- Reinforce curricular and
cross curricular knowledge.
Why have chosen
a health education project?
- To promote healthy life styles
and to offer our pupils realistic and attractive healthy options.
- To help our pupils to get
a positive self-image.
- To contribute to the physical,
mental, emotional and social development of our pupils.
- To develop individual, familiar
and social responsibility towards health.
- To favour good relationships
among the members of the school community and their environment.
Methodology
- The general aim is to increase
the communicative competence of our pupils.
- The teaching learning context
will be as real as possible.
- The learning will be functional,
enjoyable and according to the pupils’ interests.
- The four skills will be integrated,
but mainly focused on the oral interaction and production.
- The activities will consider
the multiple intelligences.
- We will promote the interactive
and cooperative work.
- Drama techniques –role
playing, simulation, modelling… - will be used.
Pupil grouping
- Varied grouping will be used
depending on the activities:
- Whole class.
- Half class group.
- Group work.
- Pair work.
Materials
- We will use diverse types
of materials:
- Text-based materials: textbooks,
books, internet …
- Task-based materials: role-plays,
simulations games, activity cards, pair work activities …
- Realia:authentic materials
such as magazines, songs, chants, videos, stories, visual resources…
- We will also select some
activities from the PAT and the general Health programme of the
School.
Evaluation criteria
- Evaluation is a tool to reflect
about the teaching learning process to improve it.
