WE WENT TO SEE THE OLIVES TREES
On Friday 12 we went to see some olive trees that are near the school and we picked olives. Olives are collected from December to February. There are a lot of olive trees in this area. Ismael and Pilar

Some olive trees are big and some others are small, it depends on the number of years since they have been planted. For olive picking, netting sheets are laid under the tree, them the tree branches are hit with canes and stickes to make the olive drop on the nets. Nowdays there are machines that do this, but few people have them, as they are very expensive.Olive come be eaten as aperitive, but mostly they are used for making oil.Sara and Oscar
