VISIT
FROM THE GLORIA FUERTES SPECIAL EDUCATION SCHOOL TO CERDAÑA
The week of the 23rd to 27th of May, 15 students and 5 teachers from the Gloria Fuertes Special Education School in Teruel came to visit us.
They arrived on Monday evening and went to stay in Casona d'Aja.
On Tuesday, the oldest students from Montellà met them in Martinet and got on their bus to go to Músser junction, from where some parents from Montellà drove us to the village where we picked up Maria from Lles. We first went to Cal Valentí where they told us how their cheeses were made and allowed us to taste them. Afterwards we went to Cal Josep Bertrán. He showed us the goats that provide the milk for the cheese and played the accordion for us in the village square. The oldest students walked back to the bus and the rest went by car. Once we were all on the bus, we drove up to Lles to drop Maria off and we visited the school there and then went down to Montellà to have lunch.
After lunch, the students from Montellà (the oldest and the youngest) all went by bus to pick up the boys and girls from Prullans. We also went to visit the flourmill and the animals of Mª Angels, our religious education teacher.
On Wednesday morning, they went to visit the Cerdaña Occupational Centre together with Nuria. This is a centre where people with special educational needs like the students of Teruel work. They do gardening and paper recycling workshops. They went up to the lake of Puigcerdà to watch how they did the garden there. Afterwards they went to Prats for lunch where the students of Prats were already waiting for them. Lunch was great and in the afternoon they all went to the riding club to ride a horse. Almost all of them dared to get onto a horse and they had great fun.
On Thursday morning, they went to Martinet where all the students of the
ZER Baridà-Batllia school were. They attended our rehearsal of
the History of Catalonia in song, and then they performed a dance with
sticks that we liked very much.
They stayed for lunch with all the students of Martinet. Then we all went
to visit the Casa del Riu and we ended up walking along the otter itinerary.
This week was very enjoyable and we had great fun.
