A cortal It is an old house which was used by the farmers. Part of the cortal was used as barn for the animals, another part was used for to shelter the animals and a last part was used as dwelling. |

The terraces teach us about their crops (cereals, potatoes). In bottom on the right, you can see the hut of shepherd which was used to the shepherd and for his dog to shelter in the event of storm. -the huts of shepherds indicate to us that there were herds. All old constructions are made out of dry stones . All the stones areput on top of each other one by one, wedged well, without anything to hold them, neither cement, nor concrete. There remains less inhabitants in Py now.(600 inhabitants about 1900 and 107 into 2003) because the life is difficult there (they have moved away, snow prevents displacements in winter, cold?) |
