Students very often get blocked and they do not know what to write. We wanted them to write for pleasure and to concentrate on the content rather than on form. So we used several techniques. One of them was free writing, we used it in order to generating ideas. After that the students have to rewrite those ideas in a draft and finally complete the edition of their texts. Another of these techniques I mentioned previously is creative writing. It consists in showing pictures or reading different stories first and then the students have to create their own story.

 

Another thing we did was surfing through web pages about poetry. After reading those poems the pupils choose their own subjects for the poems.
