When choosing applications and programs, a main priority is how easy to use they are. They should also have an educational purpose. The same can be said of the peripherals: it is not necessarily the most complicated and complete models of sound modules that have the best educational features. Before deciding which tools to choose, you should do some research on their features, with the following considerations in mind:
- Make sure the communication interface is simple and user-friendly, so that the user can easily master the program commands and pay more attention to musical questions than operating ones.
- Evaluate the music features, in terms of editing, sequencing, printing, compatibility, etc., and consider whether the contents of the tools and the activities that can be generated with them are adaptable to the curriculum.
- Make sure the software you choose and the way you will use it offer advantages compared to other educational resources, and that the language the programs and applications are written in does not make things harder for the user.
- Consider the cost of the products, but with a view to the future and their long-term use.
