Project: Grades 1-2 Temperature and Snow Depth Project

Date: February 11, 1998

Purpose: Classes will observe air temperature and snow depth on
February 11,1998. Data will be gathered via E-mail, compiled and results shared with participating classes.

Subjects: Science, Math, Technology, Geography

Grade Levels: Grades 1 + 2 (including multiage classes at this level)

Summary: I am looking for interested 1st, 2nd or Multiage 1/2 teachers
to submit data on air temperature and snow depth. What is the temperature at 10:00 a.m.on February 11, 1998 and how deep is your snow cover (if any)? Data will be collected via E-mail and the project coordinator will compile the data and send results to participating classes. Our goal is to compare temperature and snow depth in different areas of the country/world as part of a unit on
weather.

Number of Participants: Limited to 25 classrooms. Only one class per
school please, so we can allow a variety of locations to respond.
