TRAVEL PHRASEBOOK

Travel is a general word. It is a noun and a verb. We never say 'a travel'. It is an uncountable noun.

A trip is shorter than a journey. If you go on a trip, it suggests it is an organised short excursion, whereas if you take / have a trip it could be something you do yourselves in your own car.

Voyage means a long journey usually by sea, though this use is quite formal

A flight is a long journey by air.
