CHAT

Online 'chats' give you the opportunity to use language in an authentic and meaningful way and discuss about anything with a person sitting anywhere in the world. You are going to participate in a Chat, and discuss "real time" with your friends from different schools.
  •  Instructions:
  1. Go to the document  "Window on Britain" again.
  2. Read the document "Bits about the Brits", about young British style. Copy and save this document as "uni4tas3"
  3. The text names at least 4 different youth styles or movements. What are they?
  4. Which of these styles do you feel more comfortable with?
  5. Finally, read the following story:

Fiona was a girl from Brighton. Her family was very rich and her father, Sir Wilson,  was a popular man among the British aristocracy. Fiona was very happy because she had fallen in love with John. But Fiona's father did not like John. He had not meet him yet, but he knew he was a punk. He wore a pin through his nose and his hair was orange and fixed into hard spikes with glue. Sir Wilson would never accept John.

Think about this story and decide if you agree with Sir Wilson or not. Think of different reasons to argument your decision, for or against. Write them on a piece of paper.  Then, discuss it with friends from other schools through a CHAT.

Once you have joined a chat remember to follow the steps below:
