Langbank
School is a small school in a small town about 35 kilometres from Glasgow.
It can be classed as a unitary school as all the children from two different
levels are grouped together in one classroom. The socioeconomic and cultural
background of the children is integrated in a rural environement. The school
has been working in the Project Philosophy for Children for many
years and the teacher, Catherine McCall, who is the Philosophy speciallist
in the school is also a doctor of philosophy in the University of Glasgow,
director of the "Centre for philosophical Inquiry", and president
of SOPHIA in Europe.
