Research

1988-date
Duoda Project: establishment of comprehensive computerised system of documentary sources for Women's History in the Middle and Early Modern Ages, Centre de Recerca de Dones Duoda (Women's Studies Centre, University of Barcelona). After completing a Thesaurus, the group has recently finalised a CD-ROM analysing different documents from this period. This project was judged by the Spanish Ministry of Education to be a "High Quality Project Research", placing it in the highest category of funded research. It has obtained funding from 1989 to 1992, and now again from 2002 to 2004. At present we just received some funds to establish a Women’s Virtual Library
1999-date
Francoism and the Catholic Church propaganda during the Spanish Civil War: Franco’s ideological politics and Australia. This project analyses the Catholic Church’s role as a promoter of the Francoist cause in Australia and Spain during the 1930s. The first part of this projectfocuses on the role of the Spanish Benedictine Monastery of New Norcia, Western Australia, during this period, and was awarded an Internal Research Grant from the University of Technology, Sydney, in 1999. Part of the project is also related to the roots of Spanish conservatism leading to Francoist ideologies. The project reached the final stage of the 2000 ARC Small Grants Scheme, and was rated at 90 %
2006-date
CLIL project on History in English for Spanish students. This projects consists of the development of materials for the classroom and has been supported by the Departament d'Educació de la Generalitat de Catalunya

Part-time researcher (as member of one of the research groups), Centre de Recerca de Dones Duoda, (Women’s Studies Centre, University of Barcelona), involved in Duoda project discussed above. History teacher in high school (now also English teacher)
1996-2000
Lecturer, Institute for International Studies, University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), first with auxiliary Lecturer functions and from January 1997 as full-time Lecturer in Spanish Studies, lecturing on Contemporary Europe and Contemporary Spain
1988-1994
Part-time researcher at the Centre above and history teacher.
