WARM UP: End ball using a tennis ball 1- 6 V 6 The purpose of the game is to throw the ball to team mates so that the ball is progressed up the court/field to team member standing behind the line. It is not necessary that one player stays all the time behind the end line. Any player can go behind the line in order for his/her team mates to pass him/her the ball. Team members are not allowed to run with the ball. Each team must make at least five passes before the ball can be thrown past end line to a team mate. The opposition attempts to intercept the ball in the air. If the ball is dropped the other team gets a free throw. |
MAIN PART: Skill; the grip 2- Grip the ball. The teacher explains and shows to pupils how to grip the ball: The ball must be held against cheek, Hold the side on position with non bowling arm pointing towards the sky, If children are right handed, they have to have their left leg off the ground with the knee held high. The left handed have to do the same, but with right leg. After the explanation, children have to practice working in pairs. While one of them grips the ball, the other observes and give feedback. They then change roles. The teacher has to give them clear instructions. |
