AIMS OF THE STUDIO-HOUSE
The Studio-House was started by Jordi Rodríguez-Amat to promote and display his paintings and, at the same time, to foster contemporary art and culture. A large selection of the works created by the artist from the late nineteen-fifties until the present day is on show here, and his work-in-progress can be seen in the Studio-House, Rodríguez-Amat.
Concerts, encounters between artists and poets, and many other non profit-making art and cultural activities are also held here. The foundation premises are open from June to September.
VISITORS AND GENERAL PUBLIC

The Studio-House contains five spaces: art gallery, auditorium, lounge, studio and a private living area. Visitors may view all the works on show and also see around the artist’s studio. Group visits are accepted by prior appointment. The Studio-House also tries to cater for larger groups and can arrange talks, slide shows and video projections to suit the requirements and interests of each group. Series of informal talks and meetings with creative people living in the area are also organised here on a regular basis.
THE BUILDING
The Studio-House, Rodríguez-Amat is in a restored 17th-18thc house built of stone with traditional Catalan-style vaulted ceilings. It has a total surface area of 850m2 and includes an art gallery (120m2), auditorium (80m2), lounge (40m2), art studio (190m2), two terraces (20m2 and 120m2) and the artist’s private living area.

ART GALLERY
The art gallery has five exhibition rooms (20m2, 20m2, 20m2, 32m2 and 39m2 respectively), all with stone walls and traditional Catalan-style vaulted ceilings made of stone or brick. There is a total of 56m2 hanging space for paintings.

LES OLIVES VILLAGE
Les Olives (Garrigoles) is an attractive village in NE Catalonia, 12km from the Costa Brava, 120km north of Barcelona, and 25km from both Girona and Figueres. Les Olives is easily accessible by road and there is a train station 7km from the village.

EMPORDÀ COUNTY
The Studio-House is located in the heart of Empordà County, cradle of many different cultures and civilisations over the centuries. The area is famous for the Greek and Roman ruins at nearby Empúries.
The climate and geographical features of the area, as well as the character of the local people, are said to suit the creative spirit, and Empordà County today is the chosen place of residence for many artists, writers and people involved in the arts.
