In Catalonia, Halloween is called “la castanyada”. On the night of 31rd October we celebrate this festival.
People hold parties with their friends or their family. They eat sweet potatoes, chestnuts and "panellets", they are like small pies. People tell horror stories to kids and watch horror movies
Some people sell roasted chestnuts in the street.
The feature of “la castanyada” is an old woman with an old robe and a head
scarf. She sells chestnuts in a little kiosk located in the Rambles.
