Age: 11 Aims: - To represent a fraction of a non-negative rational as a finite decimal number - To use mental and written calculation strategies - To develop mathematical reasoning and communication - To compare and order rational numbers represented in different ways Materials: - Paper sheet size DIN A3; -Pencil and rubber - Transparency films; - Overhead Projector Pens - Overhead Projector. Introduction: Four groups composed by four pupils each; Delivery of the materials (worksheet and paper sheet size DIN A3); Silent reading of the task carried out by the groups; The teacher clarifies some questions that may arise after the reading of the task.
Main part: Each group presents on a paper sheet size DIN A3 or transparency film what they propose as a resolution of the task; - Discussion of the task in the large group/Class; - Contents systematization; |
