The Official School of Languages of Blanes offers an Intensive Summer Course to combine a language course with a holiday.
Blanes is a beautiful sunny
town on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the principal
tourist destinations in Spain and is famous for its beaches surrounded by
ever so green mountains and natural parks.
Blanes has a population of about 30,000 inhabitants. It is very well connected with the rest of Catalunya by highway and railway. There is a busy airport (Girona) some 15 miles away, where there are flights connecting to the most important capital cities of Europe. This town offers students fine sandy beaches, exquisite cuisine and an exceptional climate year round.
There are many cultural and sporting events such as: sailing races, theatres, art exhibitions, concerts, etc. And a famous Fireworks Festival, held in the last week of July that will make your stay even more memorable.
The Official School of Languages building is ideally located in the city centre, just a few minutes from the beach.
With a warm climate you can
sunbathe on the beach, take a swim in the Mediterranean Sea, stroll along
the seafront and enjoy water sports, tennis, scuba diving and other activities.
Blanes nightlife is particularly animated. There are many bars, discos and pubs, in the city centre as well as in the surrounding towns, which are also well-known tourist spots, as Calella or Lloret de Mar, among many others.
You can easily reach Barcelona
(60 km away), Girona (30 km away) or France (50 km away), either by car,
coach or train. There are a lot of wonderful places you can visit on independent
trips or on the excursions scheduled by the School.

the town, visit the Town Council link: www.blanes.net

The students that have attended the course regularly (80% minimum attendance is required) will receive a certificate of attendance and the mark obtained.
The universities of Catalonia recognize these courses as credits of language. Those who are interested should require further information from their College Secretary office.

The schedule will be 20 hours
per week from Monday to Friday. From 9.00 to 13.00 h for the groups in the
morning shift and from 17.00 to 21.00 h for the groups in the afternoon
shift with the following timing:
The course aims to develop the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Whilst being aware that learning Spanish should be fun, our Summer Course Programme is also focused on achieving positive results. Our fully qualified teachers work to create a balance between grammar learning and more practical and communicative activities.
In the summer courses, the
students can take part in lots of cultural and sporting activities. They
are thought to achieve a true involvement of the students of all the levels,
as for example: dancing sessions, cooking and theatre workshops, quiz and
writing contests as well as lectures. Excursions to nearby tourist places
are offered to those students who come from other countries.
Of course, all activities are led in the target language!
