BIRDWATCHING

Here is a picture of two Water Rails that were creeping out of the reeds Eating the seeds that the warden left out for them. They are very secretive birds and we were lucky to see them.

The distinctive shape of the water rail is the best identification feature. The long red bill, blue-grey under parts striped flanks help to tell it apart from other British crakes. Remember to listen for the pig-like squeals for the sharp kikk-ik-ik calls giving its presents away in the densest marsh.

Here is a picture of Adam and Amy birdWatching. These are the birds we saw; a Red Breasted Merganser, Pochard, Dunlin , Redshank , Grey Heron , Coot ,Mallard , Canada Goose , Green Finch , Shell Duck , Fad way , Teal , Cuurlew, Wigeon , Lapwing.

Here we all are looking for different kinds of birds. Bill told us all about birds we saw. We looked though binoculars And we saw birds flying , roosting , swimming and diving. We saw all different types of birds we saw females and males colourful and dull. The rarest bird we saw was Lapwing , Canada Goose and the Grey Heron. Our favourite was the Red Breasted Merganser.
