THE CONWY RSPB RESERVE

On January 21st we visited the RSPB Reserve in Conwy. The RSPB stands for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. They buy land so that they can look after it and make it a good habitat for birds and animals.

When we arrived there we were met by Maureen. She is the Education Officer for the RSPB. She told us about the work of the RSPB and all about Conwy. It is a very good reserve because people can visit it and see birds and nature.

There are lots of habitats at Conwy RSPB Reserve. They include Estuary, Freshwater lakes, woodland, bushes, grassland and reedbeds. Here is a picture of use walking through the reedbed looking for birds that were hiding.

While we were there the weather was terrible. We all had to wrap up warm with hats and gloves. It even started to snow while we were there and the wind was from the North, which means it was blowing from the Arctic. It was around minus two degrees celcius.
