Following our visit to Bodafon Farm Park, we invited the 'North Wales Bird Trust' to our school to show us some of the rare owls that they rescue and breed. We sat in a circle while the lady from the North Wales Bird Trust showed us 'Delwyn', the beautiful Barn Owl. She told us that there were not very many barn owls left in the world. This is because barn owls like to live in barns, and there are less of these around today. |
We got to touch Delwyn's beautiful white and brown feathers. He was very soft. Delwyn's feathers are very special because they allow him to fly very quietly. This helps him when he is trying to catch his prey. |

Owls are 'nocturnal' animals. This means that they are awake at night, and asleep during the day. Delwyn's favourite food is mice. |
