OUR VISIT TO THE SNOWDONIA NATIONAL PARK

This is a famous grave in Snowdonia it is the grave of a dog called Gelert.

This is the story of Gelert written in Welsh and English and is written on slate.Gelert was the dog of a Welsh Prince. The Prince went hunting one day and left his baby daughter at home with Gelert protecting her. When he went out a wolf came along and tried to kill the prince's

daughter. Luckily Gelert killed the wolf before it could get to the baby. When the Prince got home he saw the blood and the mess and thought that Gelert had tried to attack the baby. He got out his sword and killed Gellert. When he had done this he noticed the wolf, but it was too late. Gelert had been killed.

The Prince never forgave himself and buried Gelert in this grave. The photo shows the path the grave.
