The wild boar The wild boar lives in groups, but certain old males are solitary. The wild boar is the wild ancestor of the domestic pig. In spring it eats: stems, flowers of graminaceous, and even in summer. In autumn and winter, it nourishes on roots, it eats sometimes small rodents, grasshoppers, and birds. The feet of the adults are rounded, those of small are pointed. The wild boar lives in the forest. It likes to bathe in mud, it is a large mammal, it likes moisture, one often meets it hidden in the reeds. |

The wildcat It is protected well from the cold by its fur, the wildcat does not fear the cold. It is true that on a square of skin measuring 25 millimetres on its side, there is approximately 1 600 to 2 000 hairs, whereas in summer there are only 500 to 1 000. The wildcat feeds on small rodents (campagnols, mulots, dormice). It has thirty teeth, its claws are pointed. The hairs in winter become longer. As with the lynx, it has become very rare, the wildcat is only cat-like still the largely widespread in the European forests. It has the same distinctive features as his domestic cousin: flexibility, direction of balance and discretion. |
