The Process Are you ready to get started? I’m sure you’re already very excited
about this project and you have some ideas of your own. |
|
To develop the three tasks
(webzine, presentation,
and activity) you have to
follow the next steps.
1.
Get
in groups of six. Remember that each group will be working on one country.
2.
Each
group will be divided in 2 sections (A and B). Section A will be in charge of the
geo-historical features and Section B of the socio-cultural ones. So you have to agree on the section you’ll be working.
3.
You
will organise yourselves as it better suits you to fulfil the tasks, but each
section will have the following roles:
a.
a material
responsible: It’s the person in charge of the material your section
will need to develop the reports and the oral presentation.
b.
a secretary:
It’s the person responsible for scheduling the work (with the help of the rest)
and controlling deadlines.
c.
a speaker:
It’s the voice of the group and the person who will interact with the teacher
if your section has doubts or comments.
4.
Both
sections will have to agree on how to design the blog for it to be original and
coherent using the site www.blogspot.com.
It will have an appealing title and it will contain, apart from the reports of
the sections, pictures and videos related to the topic. Some aspects that each
section could include are the following:
Socio-cultural
features traditions (dances, traditional music,
religion) society
characteristics (lifestyle, food, clothes)
art
productions (music, literature, films, etc.) |
Geo-historical features nature (geography and biology) history
(geopolitics, industry and economy facts, historic events, political
system) cities (main
cities, relevant monuments, etc.) |
|
|
|
|
5. Both sections will have also
to agree on how to develop the oral presentation with the help of the projector.
6. Each section will be
responsible for preparing an activity (section A will prepare one activity and
section B another one) to introduce the features of the country to your
classmates. Some tips for the activities:
a. what about giving the class a guided tour around one of the main cities of
the country?
b. What about presenting a song of a famous group?
c. What about creating an
activity with the traditions of the
culture?
d. What about a historical timeline or an activity to relate events?
Try to exploit the materials of your
findings and prepare the activities in group. If you run out of ideas for your
activities ask your teacher for some clues.
