ASSESSMENT

return

Assessment becomes part of the learning process so that students play a larger role in judging their own progress.

Children should be encouraged to evaluate their own on-going work all sort of ways. They should question whether one material or medium is better than another for a particular job; are things in their picture the right size?; is the colour as they want it? And so on. They should be able to discuss with increasing confidence and knowledge, aspects of their own work.

They should be gathered together to share discoveries, and celebrate achievement with their peers. If a positive attitude is fostered in the class pupils feel safe to make positive criticism of their own work and that of their classmates.

Assessment, on the part of the teachers, will be continuous, formative and global. It would be useful to use some charts to record our pupils’ progress.

As regards to the project we have to revise it throughout the school year and it could be modified at any time.
