INFORMATION
In musical creation we will practice sound manipulation and musical forms . You will be able to explore these two very different aspects in this Web.

A sonorous source is the object we will use to produce sound and/or noise. Sound can be introduced into the computer from a flute, voice or a CD. Software give us many possibilities to manipulate all the material we saved. Here we will use a tool called "Audicity".
Sound is a vibration produced by a moving body. The difference between sound and noise is determined by periodicity of the sound- wave. Frequency of the sound is measured in kHz. The human ear can perceives in normal conditions frequencies between 20Hz and 20 kHz. Sound intensity is measured in decibels, dB. In order to obtain good quality of sound we will use a standard frequency of 44.100Hz and a sound-card that offers 16 bits sampling. The result is *.wav file. These files are saved using PCM , digital audio without compression. Mono and Stereo show us that there are two channels to record and to reproduce sound. The extension * .mid is also a sound format. You will find more information in the page Listen.

Practicing musical forms you will relate creation, analysis and exploration of formal resources. A playful attitude will be appreciated .
In order to copy a score we can choose from a short melody to an orchestral page. In order to compose dodecaphonic series, the canon, modes and its transpositions, and low obstinate a musical dictionary could be needed. You can find it in the page sail.
