Process

Please get into teams. Each team should be formed by 2 to 3 people. If there are more than 15 students in the class, you can form several groups for the same role. The teams' names will be:

Fiona

Marcus

Will

Each team should feel as if they were in their character's shoes. To achieve this, please visit these sites and do the tasks which follow:

Fiona:

Vegetarianism and young people (good if you feel like reading a 19-page pdf file)

Guide to healthy eating

Task: Please prepare a slideshow (using Open Office or Powerpoint) to convince the world that vegetarianism is the way. Please bear in mind that you should also be able to convince Marcus.

Family education.

Do you think Fiona needs an update so that she doesn't get Marcus into trouble with her 60s ideas? Please visit this website and prepare a handout with some ideas to discuss with your partners.

Marcus

The poor boy is bullied at school. This website gives kids ideas to survive bullying. Do you think Marcus should visit it or is his strategy more effective? Prepare a handout with the main ideas in the website and your comments or criticisms on these ideas and on Marcus'

Once you've decided on strategies to avoid bullying, try to give some advice to Marcus on fashionable music. Have a look at this chart of current hits and decide which ones should be a must for anybody to know.

You know that Marcus likes watching TV quite a lot. This is the children's TV website. Which programmes do you think he would like? Prepare a slideshow (using Open Office or Powerpoint) to tell your partners about current programmes for British kids.

Will

Will always knows what's fashionable for men. Check these magazines and prepare a slideshow (using Open Office or Powerpoint) to present the hottest fashion for men: FHM , NME .

Will is rich and Marcus takes advantage of it. Imagine Marcus wants to go with Fiona, Ellie and Will to Planet Hollywood and Alton Towers. How much would it cost? What could they do? Again, prepare a slideshow for the rest of the class.

With the information that you've got, choose a topic to do a class presentation. The presentation should last for about 10 minutes.
