4. REFERENCES. In order to avoid repetitions in writing we often resort to pronouns that refer to previous ideas in the text. Below you are presented with some of these references. Read the examples and write what the reference is.

Why do this? To become aware of these mechanisms of the language.

A.- (a) Since I am a teacher of English I always particularly enjoy travelling to Britain. Moreover, we are trying to get our daughter, Laura, acquainted with the language there. She often says she likes the sound of it!
