Why do this? To practise introductory letters to a penfriend.

Make a list of the relevant information you wish to include in your first letter, as seen in Activity 1 of the BEFORE-READING SECTION.
Use the verbs LIKE, DISLIKE, ENJOY, LOVE to expres your likings and dislikings.

 

 

Remember that these verbs can ONLY take a noun or a gerund.

  • Use the present simple to express stable actions (i.e. “I have two children”)
  • Use the present continuous to express temporary actions (i.e. “At the moment I am doing a course on Chinese painting”).Play with your hadwriting by deciding which words on your note will be underlined, CAPITAL…
  • Use ¿¿?? or ¡¡!! (If you need them).
  • Write at least four paragraphs.
  • Give it to your teacher/tutor for suggestions.
  • Send your note to your real e-pal and keep long-running correspondence. (If you haven’t had time or the chance to find one, please write the letter all the same).
 
 

 

If you like to check your letter before sending it, e-mail it to your tutor or show it to your teacher.
