In Ireland, St. Patrick’s day is a religious holiday. It is very similar to Christmas and Easter.

St. Patrick’s day is celebrated with great parades, community feasts and benifits shows, but parades, shamrocks and green beer are mainly for tourists because it’s a torurist attraction.

Little by little, other English speain countries took it up. New York has the largest St. Patrick’s parades. The St. Patrick’s day parade of New York city has got a one million spectators every year.

The Chicago’s city has developed a only tradition. This tradition it is about to color the river water green and it was started in 1962.

In various cities the St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated with community and social works. These varieties are driven by a unique theme: being an Irish Day.
