The island is low in the middle, and high on the outside. Because of this, the middle of Ireland is full of beautiful lakes and rivers, where people can fish and sail.
There are hundreds of flowers in the green fields, and the beaches are wide and empty. The weather is warm and wet, so there is rain and sun every day.The middle and east of Ireland are very different. The land is good here for plants to grow.
In the middle of Ireland there is farming country. The irish milk and meat are the best in the world, they say. There are farms where the best horses and horsemen in the world.

St.Stephen’s Green

St. Stephen's Green

A beautiful park at the end of Grafton Street. It is an ideal place to rest after a shopping day in town. Its lake, trees, and plants make it an ideal place to walk around.

St. Stephen's Green was enclosed in 1664. Landscaped with flowerbeds, trees, a fountain and a lake, the green is dotted with memorials to eminent Dubliners. The 1887 bandstand is still the focal point for free daytime concerts in summer.

Phoenix park

The Phoenix Park

Phoenix Park is the largest enclosed urban park in Europe. It is located just 3km from the city centre.

This is Dublin's playground - the largest urban enclosed park in Europe, with a total area of 712 hectares (1,760 acres). Situated 3km west to the city centre. Ornamental gardens, nature trails, and broad expanses of grassland, separated by avenues of trees, including oak, beech, pine, chestnut, and lime. Livestock graze peacefully on pasturelands, deer roam the forested areas, and horses romp on polo fields.

The main entrance to the Phoenix Park is at Park gate Street. Dublin 7, near Castle Knock. There is no charge to enter Phoenix Park.

Merrion Square

Merrion Square Merrion Square is one of Dublin's largest and greatest Georgian squares. On three sidesof its sides there are Georgian Houses and on the fourth side there is the garden of Leinster House, and two museums. The attractive central park features colourful flowers and shrub beds.

Many of the houses are mainly used as offices buildings which have plaques detailing the rich and famous people who once lived in them. In the picture you can see the statue of Oscar Wilde reclining on a rock, which is in this famous square.
