c) Circumstances: The painting presents the myth of the birth (and identity) of Venus, which springs out of the sperm of Uranus, mutilated by his sons; she is motherless (Aphrodita Urania) and she is the mother of everything. The blowing characters are the Winds (the Air), Hurricane and Cephir; the woman with a mantle is the Earth.
