2. What kind of letter is Michael's?
A. persuasive.
B. narrative.
C. descriptive.

3. Write a letter to Michael on the following terms.

Why follow the tips below? To guide you in your writing.

Say you don't agree to his proposal. You don't want to visit Paris again. You'd rather go to Barcelona, San Sebastian, Madrid or a town in Andalucia.
If you're working with a partner discuss all the advantages and disadvantages that these cities have. After discussing, choose one. You will have to CONVINCE Michael to go there.
Build about 4 paragraphs.
Use 5 or 6 adjectives that make your proposal VERY ATTRACTIVE/CONVINCING.
Include the following phrases/connectors in the writing:

    We have the following proposal:
We will enjoy + Verb ING
On the one hand … On the other hand (expression for contrast).
First … to list all the pros.
Also/As well as this … to list all the pros.
Besides/Apart from this … to list all the pros.
Although … to admit a disadvantage and then introduce another advantage (i.e. "although Córdoba is still very hot in September, buildings like La Mezquita are very cool and pleasant in the inside).

Give this letter to your tutor/teacher for correction/suggestions. If possible, organise a real trip yourself: Make your proposals.

Why do this? To practise how to write a persuasive letter.
