1. You are going to test your speed writing. "Describe in detail everything you did this morning from the moment you woke up to now." Think for two minutes. After those two minutes, write as much as you can and as quickly as you can in the box below. Time yourself : 10 minutes.

Why do this? As a warming up into English and as a way to practise writing about your daily routines under a little time pressure.

2. Vocabulary work: adjectives.

When we write, our first version is just a draft. Drafts need revision. How? By reading the text again, changing ideas, looking up interesting words in dictionaries, paragraphing better, expanding or shortening the text, etc. Don't be satisfied with your first versions ! Work on them a little is you wish good results!

Read all of the adjectives in the box below. Choose a minimum of 5 and fit them appropriately in the writing you did in activity 1. If you think you need to use an adjective which is not in this box, look it up in a good dictionary.

Why do this?
To improve your first version by making any necessary changes.
To enrich your text with colourful adjectives.

3. Your text looks better now. Have you checked the spelling with the word processor? If not, do so now. Have a final look at your text. Are you happy with what you read? Would you like to make a few minor changes?

When you think you are ready, you may e-mail/show the text with your "daily routines" to your teacher/tutor for revision.
