SPAIN

Spain is one of the most important countries in the world. Spain is situated in the southwest of Europe. France, Portugal and Andorra are neighbours of Spain.

There are different autonomous regions in Spain. Spanish is the third most spoken language of the world and it is spoken at a lot of countries of South America as a first language. There are three other languages that are spoken in Spain apart from Spanish and they are Catalan, Basque and Galician. Madrid and Barcelona are the most important cities in Spain. Madrid is the Capital City of Spain and its population is 3.000.000 people, more or less.

Madrid is one of the most famous capitals of the world. Barcelona is a tourist city with its beaches and historical arts.

The weather is cold in Spain in winter but not as cold as in others European countries because it is more to the south, and because the sea softens the weather. In Spain it is very hot in the summer and there is much humidity. Tourism is one of the most important incomes of Spanish economy. The Pyrenees are suitable for winter tourism with its famous running tracks and Spanish coasts are suitable for summer tourism with its large beaches.

Spain has got a lot of different symbols but the bull is maybe its the most famous symbol. There are a lot of traditions with bulls in Spain. Bullfight is one of these traditions. Bullfighters kill bulls at bullfights and there is another tradition with bull: a lot of people run in front of bulls in Spanish festivals but this is very dangerous and a lot of people are wounded because of this tradition every year.

Spain has got a lot of famous recipes that are known to the rest of the world. Paella is one of the most famous of these. Paella is a dish of saffron-flavoured rice cooked with meats, seafood and vegetables.

Cervantes is one of the most important Spanish great men. He was a Spanish novelist, playwright and poet. He was the creator of Don Quixote (1605) and the most important figure in Spanish literature.

Spain has got one of the mous and interesting cultures in the world.
