| Most teenagers have feelings and emotions
that are stronger than adults'. Teenage emotions are different because
we need strong emotions to feel different from others. Many TV series often
use this to attract audience, specially teenagers. They use sentimental
archetypes that manipulate viewers. Teenage soap operas make stereotypes
of common teen profiles to attract them. Some pop music does so,
too, because artists write emotive lyrics to attract teens.
Music is very important in teenagers' lives because when they listen to it their emotions change. There are diferent kinds of music; jazz, classic, pop, rock... We hate classical music because it is very boring and classical music doesn't have lyrics and the best thing in songs is their lyrics. Teenagers are very special persons. They have a lot of emotions and feelings and they don't like a monotonous life. They like exciting lives. Now, powerful media like gossip magazines talk about famous people because they pay the famous a lot of money to gossip about their lives. Another example is publicity. The psychologists from advertising companies use feelings and emotions to convince people to buy products. Publicity, magazines and TV influence teenagers' lives. Teenagers listen and they imagine a fantastic personal world. Teenagers' feelings and emotions are very strange. Sometimes we can be sad, but at the same time we can be the happiest people in the world with a simple word, with a simple news. We often make a big problem of a little thing. Our feelings are very radical; for example, when we love, we love with all our force and with all our soul. A lot of teenagers think that music is very important in their lives. Sometimes you are listening to a song and you feel the shivers. Why? This is a difficult question to answer. There are songs with very moving lyrics, and you feel identified with them, and of course, mosts lyrics are about love. You can find a song whose lyrics explain a similar situation that you have. Or simply you can her a song that impresses you. The same thing happens with cinema. When a film is succesful among teenagersit is generally because there is a beautiful love story. We feel indentified. Feelings also influence the personality of the person and can make people happy or unhappy. We have very strong feelings and we change very fast. They are important in all our life, but specially in adolescence because we are sensitive. We are developing our personality and it's an important stage in our life that will influence us in the future. |
